Argan: a plant treasure for our skin
Argan is a gifted natural active ingredient in cosmetics. It has been used for thousands of years by Moroccan women in the manufacture of handcrafted beauty care products. It is fromthe mid-1980s that international beauty brands began to take a closer interest in its benefits. The argan tree, a tree that requires neither fertilizer nor pesticides.
It is therefore not surprising that, with the development of natural and organic skincare products, it has become an essential ingredient in the French cosmetics industry. France is indeed the main importer of argan extracts. And it accounts for 78% of purchases of the quantities sold abroad!
AN ETHICAL AND SOLIDARITY-BASED NATURAL ACTIVE INGREDIENT
The Argan tree (Argania Spinosa from its Latin name) grows wild in south-west Morocco.
It is notably present in the Arganeraie Biosphere Reserve. This large estate, which is now partof UNESCO's heritage, plays an irreplaceable role in the fight against soil degradation and the progressive desertification of southern Morocco.
The Argan BIO subsidiary of Argan BIO therefore actively contributes to supporting the preservation of this biodiversity. Choosing the Argan BIO label also means contributing to the economic well-being of local populations, particularly women.
In fact, most of the production of Organic Argan is carried out through women's cooperatives, enabling them to join forces to share resources, costs and income. This providesthem with better outlets thanks to the promotion of organic traceability of production, while preserving a thousand-year-old artisanal know-how.
Since for Les Poulettes Paris, female solidarity is an important value, it is with great pride that we tell you about this natural active ingredient, which is honoured in our Coup d'Éclat cosmetic mask.
THE GUARANTEE OF BEAUTIFUL SKIN, FOR A LONG TIME TO COME
The specificity of argan oil? A great richness in fatty acids and Vitamin E. Two essential molecules to maintain the skin in good health and protect it against ageing.Let's start with the Fatty Acids.
Commençons avec les Acides Gras.
You also know them as Omega. They are lipids that are classified into two categories.
First there are essential fatty acids car because they are not produced by the body and must therefore come from the diet (or your skin care). They are essential for good cell development. This is notably the case of Omega 6, which represents almost 40% of the lipids present in Argan oil. They act as a barrier for the epidermis and help maintain the skin's elasticity.
Non-essential fatty acids, uch as Omega 9, can be synthesised by the body. They are found in the sebum naturally secreted by the skin. Argan oil also contains them, which explains its excellent affinity with the epidermis. Omega 9 are essential for the hydration and suppleness of the skin. They make Argan extract an ideal active ingredient for skins that lack comfort and radiance.
Let's finish with vitamin E.
Also called Tocopherol (it's not very pretty, but that's the way it is), it's a super antioxidant.
And antioxidant means the ability to fight against the nasty free radicals that perniciously attack the small cells of your skin.
Better protected, ready to defend themselves against the aggressor, our cells stay in top shape longer and help delay the signs of ageing.
Vitamin E is basically "the youthful bonus of your Coup d'Éclat mask".
Do not hesitate to use pure Organic Argan oil on your hair. Apply it generously all over your hair and leave it on for a good hour under a towel (in Instagram star turban mode) before shampooing. It's a sure-fire cure for frizz!
