Discover Aloe Vera, one of the key ingredients in our masks!

In recent years, Aloe Vera has become an essential ingredient in natural cosmetics. The beauty and hygiene sector uses more than 30,000 tons per year.

This is not surprising given the multiple benefits of this plant in terms of health and well-being. Mainly known for its soothing and healing properties, Aloe has many other talents hidden in its leaves.

We invite you to discover it together.

Aloe is a succulent plant capable of storing large amounts of water in its tissues. Entirely covered with a protective bark, it is once cut that the secrets of the Aloe leaf are revealed. Justunder the bark is the plant's sap. It is a yellow and very bitter liquid that acts as the plant's vascular system. In particular, it transports the water, nutrients and phytoactive components synthesised in its roots to the pulp. The pulp represents up to 80% of the plant's weight, and it is this pulp that will be of interest to us in cosmetics.

Aloe pulp contains about 200 components that are at the origin of its multiple benefits.

Its high concentration of saccharides such as mannose and galactose make it first of all an excellent humectant. Hume what? Don't panic, we'll explain!

The humectant active ingredients are made up of molecules small enough to penetrate into the heart of the superficial cells of the epidermis and capable of retaining water like mini sponges. They therefore play an active role in hydrating the skin.

Aloe also promotes cell renewal. Thanks to its richness in amino acids (molecules capable of supporting the skin's regenerative functions to promote protein synthesis), it helps in the natural production of collagen and elastin.

The presence of fumaric acid in the pulp also gives Aloe anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties. This is undoubtedly why it has been used since ancient times for its healing properties, with no risk of superinfecting wounds.

Add to this a bevy of "beautiful skin" vitamins (A, B, C) and you can see why, at Les Poulettes, we are rather fans of Aloe!

And yes, Organic Aloe is one of our favourite active ingredients to be found in the whole range of Les Poulettes Paris masks.
